Tonight, Tom Grennan returned to Leeds for a huge sold-out gig at Millennium Square in Leeds as part of the city's Summer Series. Having toured venues last year such as Leeds First Direct Arena, The O2 in London, and Manchester’s AO Arena to name a few, you could class it as a more intimate run of shows, so congratulations if you managed to be one of the approximately 6000 in attendance!
This year's summer series has already seen Nothing But Thieves and Anne Marie take to the stage, with acts such as Suede, The Manic Street Preachers, Busted, and Leeds’s very own Yard Act set to do so over the next few weeks.

Tom is no stranger to the city, first playing at the Iconic Brudenell Social Club back in February 2017, with appearances at both Live at Leeds, and Leeds Festival in the same year, and more recently in 2023, Leeds First Direct Arena, as well as two Album Launch shows at Leeds University in partnership with Crash Records in support of his latest album "What Ifs & Maybes".
"What Ifs & Maybes", released June 2023, became the Bedford born singers second number one album, and although no new music was showcased at tonight's show, Tom teased that it was in the works!
Rightly or wrongly, tonight’s gig start time was pushed back from the original door time of 18:00 to around 20:30 due to the council taking the decision to still use Millennium Square as a fan zone for the Euros. Through no fault of any of tonight’s acts, this meant that Brooke Combe was unfortunately no longer a part of the line-up, and Victor Ray had to take to the stage while 1000s still queued to get in, (Although Tom seemed to enjoy celebrating the win with fans attending the screening of tonight’s England game). One thing to mention is that this didn't seem to affect the legnth of Tom's set, something that fans seemed to have been worried about online when the announcement was first made. A whopping 21 songs were played on the night.

Tom and his Band took to the stage to Fat Les' "Vindaloo", still visibly pleased about the Football result, which the crowd in attendance seemed to replicate, Swiftly followed by the opening number If Only, a powerful track which set the tone for the rest of tonight's performance.
One thing anyone could take away from tonight would be the immense effort put into the performances by Tom, a brilliant stage presence and ability to get the crowd going and an impressive catalogue of songs to go alongside. Everything from the shows backing musicians and singers, all the way to the lighting and pyrotechnics for the show made for an unforgettable experience for all in attendance.

The night consisted of both songs from Tom's own albums, as well as a few songs of which he has released alongside other artists, such as Chase & Status, KSI and Ella Henderson to name a few.
To bring the night to a close, Tom ended his set with firm fan favourite, "Little Bit of Love".
Tom moves on to Manchester tomorrow to perform what is sure to be another exceptional set at Castlefield Bowl before taking on a packed summer of Festival appearances, headline shows, and his very own homecoming day festival at Gunnersbury Park for good measure.
